Jon Brion is one of the best producer ever and he simply doesn't get the credit he deserves. Best way to describe his music is that it makes emotions. He has produced Fionna Apple and worked with Kanye* and done soundtracks for films like Punch Drunk Love, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I Heart Huckabees, and the upcoming Synecdoche NY. He has a residency at the Largo in the L.A. area so if you live around there, you might wanna check him out. I saw him a while back in Chicago and, not to reference the a-typical indie film but, his show will change your life.
*He co-produced Late Registration and plays strings on the up-coming 808's and Heartbreak
