"The Truth" is the first single from Jake One's Rhymesayers released album WHITE VAN MUSIC. Exciting, yes. But what's even more exciting is that it features two enormously talented MCs from two totally different rap worlds, Freeway & Brother Ali. Call me crazy, but I feel like these are the type of collaborations that everybody begs for. The synergy of indie rap and gangster rap is swept aside to make room for the fact that no matter which genre of rap music you create, "a dope MC is a dope MC"-KRS-One. And for all intents and purposes, Jake One's career has positioned him as the silver lining on the blurred grey lie that is rap music. The acquisition of these two MCs on this track (to me) represents the summation of his career and production style.
So without further ado, Jake One/Freeway/Brother Ali bring to you...The Truth.
